Join the CMC Leadership Team

to become a change-maker and impact lives through education

Student Connection was founded by current CMC students in 2019. They’ve since transformed it into a multi-state, nationally renowned nonprofit that has provided academic support to 250 underserved students. Thus, we believe in the power of youth. We are different from all other clubs in that we do not provide opportunities for consulting, interning, or learning how to effect change. We provide opportunities to do it. Our CMC leadership team is the nonprofit. We run it. We recruit and train the tutors, manage our paid staff, market, conduct high level fundraising, conduct professional research efforts, and expand our impact through policy research and political advocacy. While we take the recruitment process seriously as the work to be done is impacting real lives, we are uniquely welcoming group seeking to bring on more future leaders. We’re eager to have a 1-on-1 conversation to discuss how this can serve as an opportunity for you to grow and test out whichever interests you have.

Joining Student Connection is joining a shared journey. You will regularly take part in brainstorming sessions with an impassioned, grassroots team in its start-up phase that leave you walking away inspired, while simultaneously handling serious, professional work that impacts real lives and the future of education. We are constantly attempting to push the limits and break the status quo—as we see that the status quo in our country and world has left many without access to opportunity and affected by injustice.

We’re organized into different departments designed to allow the club to build current and new solutions to inequity and injustice through financial development, marketing/communications, program operations (running the tutoring program), and expansion efforts (research, advocacy, policy). There are many positions available from specific, skill building positions with defined tasks to leadership positions centered around managing teams and generating new ideas. We require no qualifications whatsoever. Though, we are selective in the level of care and commitment of those seeking to join. We have a low-pressure application process designed for us to get to know you and your potential. We will work with you to discover your strengths and see how Student Connection can best help you grow. Our application process and specific available roles will be discussed in-person at our info session (or by scheduling a call/meeting with our leadership) and over email. Please email josh_wolters@hotmail.com to be given the time and location of future info sessions or to schedule a meeting.
